Oceanography

Oceanography is the scientific study of the world’s oceans and the life, processes, and environments they contain. It combines biology, chemistry, geology, and physics to help us understand marine ecosystems, ocean currents, weather patterns, seafloor features, and the connections between the ocean and life on Earth. Because the ocean covers more than 70% of our planet, oceanography plays a critical role in understanding climate, conserving marine life, and protecting the health of our global environment.
